Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups potatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (any kind of oil)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (may use 1 1/2 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt (if desired)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Get out a skillet and add the 2 tablespoons oil. Heat on medium high. Add the potatoes, frying for 5 minutes or until 1/3 of the way cooked.

  • Step 2: Next, add the water, soy sauce, corn syrup, sugar, and minced garlic. Cook 5 more minutes.

  • Step 3: Take a taste and add the sea salt if desired.

  • Step 4: Keep cooking, reducing the liquid to a paste (about 5 minutes).

  • Step 5: Reduce the heat to medium and fry 5 to 7 minutes more, or until the potatoes are cooked thru.

  • Step 6: Add the sesame seeds over the top of everything.
