  • 2 1/2 cups cold water or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 3/4 cup of tomato sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add rice and onion; cook until the rice is lightly browned. Add water or both and remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until rice is tender.

  • Step 2: Once the rice is browned add in garlic; cook for 1 minute. Add water or both and remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until rice is tender (about 20 minutes)
