Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl beat the brown sugar and shortening with an electric mixer until well mixed.
Step 3: Add baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Step 4: Beat until combined, scraping bowl often.
Step 5: Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
Step 6: Add flour and sour cream alternately to beaten mixture, beating until combined after each addition.
Step 7: Stir in 2/3 cup chopped nuts.
Step 8: Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
Step 9: Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Step 10: Transfer to wire racks and let cool.
Step 11: Spread cooled cookies with Browned Butter Frosting and if desired, top with additional chopped nuts or walnut halves.
