  • 1 (12 ounce) package Oreo Sandwich Cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 quarts vanilla ice cream, softened just enough for spreading
  • 2 1/2 cups salted peanuts
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margine, cubed

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine crushed cookies with 1/2 cup of melted butter in a large bowl; mix well. Pat into a 13 x 9-inch pan then freeze until hard, about 1 hour.

  • Step 2: Spread the softened ice cream evenly on top of crumb crust. Sprinkle with 1 cup peanuts and freeze for 1 hour.

  • Step 3: For topping; in a saucepan over medium heat, combine evaporated milk, chocolate chips, sugar and 1/3 cup butter bring to a gentle boil stirring until thick and smooth. When mixture has thickened remove from heat; cool completely. Spread chocolate mixture over ice cream. Top with remaining 1 1/2 cups peanuts; place in freezer.

  • Step 4: Cut into squares before serving. Store any leftovers covered tightly with foil in freezer.
