Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 to 4 pints of plain tomato sauce
  • 1 (10 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 tomato soup can filled with water to rinse the can
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons garlic powder OR 3 to 5 teaspoons chopped fresh garlic
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder OR 1 small chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil OR 2 tablespoons of italian mixed herbs of your choice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 to 2 pounds ground beef or pork or loose italian sausage (If not using meat, I add 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil AND 1 pint chopped tomatoes, drained)
  • 1/4 cup brewed coffee
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: If using meat, brown the meat over medium-high heat in sauce pot until meat looses its pinkness, but don't over brown. If not using meat, simply start with the next step.

  • Step 2: Stir together in sauce pot; plain tomato sauce, condensed tomato soup, and water to browned meat (if making meat sauce).

  • Step 3: Add the rest of the ingredients in order given, including coffee, and bring to a simmer. Cook for ten minutes. The coffee mellows the tomato flavor and gives this sauce a "Cooked all day" flavor.

  • Step 4: Serve over your favorite pasta. Leftover sauce can be stored in fridge or frozen and improves by melding the flavors.
