Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons orange extract (or Grand Marnier)
  • 12 ounces cranberries (fresh)
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a saucepan, mix the 2 1/2 cups sugar, water, vanilla, and orange extract (or Grand Marnier) over medium heat. Heat until the sugar is dissolved. Don't bring it to a boil.

  • Step 2: Next, pour in the cranberries, stirring. Find a small plate that you can place in the pan to cover the cranberries to keep them submerged. Put the pan in the refrigerator. Keep the plate in it. Cover the pan and keep it in the refrigerator overnight.

  • Step 3: In a rimmed dish, put the 1 1/4 cups of sugar. Take the cranberries out of the refrigerator when ready and strain them. (Save the syrup if you want to use it.) Put the cranberries in the rimmed dish of sugar and shake to cover them all completely.

  • Step 4: Put the cranberries on a baking sheet. Let them dry out. It shouldn't take more than an hour or two, depending on how you spread them out and how much sugar is on them.

  • Step 5: You may then put them into a sealed container for up to a week.
