Step 1: Start the pot of 6 cups ofwater for your noodles according to the package directions.
Step 2: Salt when boiling

Step 4: Heat the extra virgin olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 5: Once heated, about a minute or so, add onions until tender
Step 6: Add garlic, dried basil and crushed red pepper. Saute until garlic are slightly soft, about 2 minutes.
Step 7: Add the diced tomatoes and salt and pepper,
Step 8: Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer while you wait for your noodles to finish.
Step 9: Add noodles to the tomato sauce and stir to combine
Step 10: Make sure you strain as much water as possible from the noodles before adding them to the sauce.
Step 11: Add fresh tomatoes
Step 12: Cook over medium heat until the noodles are warmed through.
Step 13: Toss with fresh basil
