The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3⁄4 cups smooth peanut butter
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoons salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350.

  • Step 2: Use a very large mixing bowl and cream together shortening, butter and both sugars.

  • Step 3: Beat in eggs.

  • Step 4: Beat in peanut butter.

  • Step 5: Gradually add in flour and baking soda. You may only need the 2 cups of flour and not a full 2 1/2 cups.

  • Step 6: You may need to use hands as dough gets very stiff.

  • Step 7: Drop them by tablespoons on to ungreased cookie sheets.

  • Step 8: Mash with a fork horizontally and vertically

  • Step 9: Bake at 350 degrees for about 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned at edges.
