Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Rim Lemon Sugar (for sugaring the rims of the glasses)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (best when using a combination of regular white granulated sugar and bakers coarse sugar)
  • Zest from 1 lemon
  • Lemon Drop Martini
  • 2 ounces vodka, (1/4 cup, preferably use citron vodka, but regular is o.k too. Use good quality, believe me, it makes a difference. Refer to Note)
  • 3/4 ounce Cointreau or Triple Sec (1 1/2 tablespoons)
  • 1 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice (2 tablespoons. Use fresh and no substitutions)
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup (1 1/2 tablespoons)
  • Ice
  • 1 lemon slice, thinly sliced
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Rim Lemon Sugar

  • Step 1: Place sugar into a wide enough plate to fit the rim of your martini glass, then evenly distribute the zest into the sugar with your fingers until tinted yellow and fragrant.

  • Lemon Drop Martini Method

  • Step 2: Rub the edge of the rim of your martini glass (best when the glass has been chilled) with a slice of lemon, making sure it is well moistened. Turn the glass upside down and twist into the lemon sugar until the rim is well covered; set aside.

  • Step 3: Into a cocktail shaker, add vodka, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), lemon juice, simple syrup, and a handful of ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake for 30 seconds or until very cold. Strain into the prepared martini glass, top with a slice of lemon directly onto the top of the martini and serve immediately. Enjoy!

  • NOTE: Sometimes I add 1 1/2 oz. of vodka to make it a wee bit less robust, but it's all up to you and sometimes depends on the brand of vodka using.
