Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound butter, softened (no substitutes)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla (can use more)
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups cake flour (or can same amount of all-purpose flour but cookies will not be as tender)
  • 2 cups walnut, finely chopped
  • Additional confectioners' sugar for rolling
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Set oven rack to second-lowest position. Line a baking/cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl beat the butter vanilla, confectioners' sugar and salt. Mix in flour slowly (dough will be stiff, I use my hands for mixing). Add chopped nuts; mix well. Roll into 1 inch balls, transfer to baking sheet.

  • Step 3: Bake 15-20 minutes.

  • When you take the cookies out of the oven have your bowl of confectioners sugar ready and immediately (and very carefully) roll them in it for the first time, the sugar will get all melty and gooey, but it provides the perfect base coat for your second roll (the second roll gives them a much more thorough coat, and much more snowy look) Once the coated cookies are cooled roll in sugar once again.
