Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 7 ounces cucumber, peeled and seeded (= 1 medium cucumber)
  • 6 ounces green pepper, seeded (= 1 medium green pepper)
  • 4 ounces onion (= 1 small onion)
  • 12 ounces fresh tomatoes (= 2 medium tomatoes)
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon Tabasco
  • ½ teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 16 ice cubes

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut peeled and seeded cucumber in half lengthwise and chop coarsely.

  • Step 2: Finely chop the green pepper and onion and add to the cucumber.

  • Step 3: Peel the tomatoes and cube and add to the other vegetables.

  • Step 4: Add the tomato juice, oil, vinegar, oregano, garlic, Tabasco, pepper and salt to taste.

  • Step 5: Chill at least 2 hours or overnight.

  • Step 6: Ladle into bowls, adding 1-2 ice cubes to each.
