Step 1: In a large bowl combine the first 8 dry ingredients. In another small bowl whisk milk with egg and melted butter until well blended; add to dry ingredients and mix using a wooden spoon until combined. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat Place about 2 tablespoons of the mixture into your hands then shape into a ball.
Step 3: Place into hot oil then using a fork or spatula press down into about 1-inch rounds (the size does not have to be exact). Cook about 3 minutes per side or until browned adding in more oil to the skillet if needed.
