The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup gluten free biscuit mix (I use Bob's Red Mill)
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk (plus a bit more)
  • 1/2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon good quality vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix together flour, white sugar and baking powder until well blended.

  • Step 2: Add milk and melted butter, mix well and set aside. (You might need a bit more milk depending on altitude and temperature. You want a dough that sticks together)

  • Step 3: Pour the remaining ingredients in a large frying pan and bring to a boil over medium heat.

  • Step 4: Drop dough mixture by spoonfuls into the sauce.

  • Step 5: Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes without lifting cover.

  • Step 6: Remove cover and allow to cool a bit but serve warm.
