  • 1/4 cup buttermilk (not scant)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (not scant)
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (not scant)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (granulated)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (can reduce)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • NOTE--- IMPORTANT! broth MUST be light simmering when adding in the dumpling dough and make sure to keep broth simmering during adding of dough. 2) Your pot must be at least 4 liters and minimum 10 inches wide as these more than double, if your pot is too small your dumplings will not expand and will end up tough. 3) Your finger must be oiled to push the dough off the spoon. 4) Work fast to drop in dough. 5) top with a tight fitting lid..DO NOT REMOVE THE LID during cooking time

  • Step 1: Have a small bowl filled with a few tablespoons of oil (for your finger).

  • Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk the two eggs. Add in the buttermilk and whisk vigorously until well combined.

  • Step 3: In another medium bowl, measure/add all the dry ingredients; mix them well.

  • Step 4: Add the buttermilk/egg mixture to the dry; using a fork combine JUST until the dry ingredients are mixed with the wet (do not over-mix!)

  • Step 5: Have your broth simmering (MUST BE SIMMERING!).

  • Step 6: Scoop about a tablespoon of dough onto a spoon and push it off into simmering dough using your oiled finger. Continue working as quick as possible with remaining dough keeping the broth at a simmer at all times. When there is no more dough. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Bring to a med-low simmer and simmer for 30 minutes. NO LIFTING THE LID DURING THE 30 MINUTES!

  • Step 7: If you follow this process you should have ultra fluffy delicious dumplings.
