Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds raw chicken legs
  • 2 pounds raw chicken thighs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven broiler.

  • Step 2: Season leg quarters with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • Step 3: Place on a wire rack that’s placed on top of a baking sheet.

  • Step 4: Broil until skin is browned and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per side.

  • Step 5: Meanwhile

  • Step 6: Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  • Step 7: Let melted butter start to brown before adding onion.

  • Step 8: Cook onion in browned butter until soft, about 3-4 minutes.

  • Step 9: Add garlic and cook for another minute before adding ketchup, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and Worcestershire. Bring to a simmer and cover.

  • Step 10: Let simmer while chicken broils.

  • Step 11: Remove broiled chicken from wire rack and place into a large, 13×9 inch baking dish.

  • Step 12: Pour sauce over the top.

  • Step 13: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 14: Cook chicken, uncovered, for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes with sauce.
