Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound ground beef,
  • 1/2 pound sliced bacon (coarsely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (bottled)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoons chili powder, to taste
  • 1 can (31 ounce) pork and beans
  • 1 can (15 1/2 ounce) lima beans (butter beans, rinsed and drained)
  • 1 can (15 1/2-ounce) red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: In large skillet cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon

  • Step 3: And retain drippings in pan.

  • Step 4: Add ground beef and onion to pan and cook until brown.

  • Step 5: Drain off fat.

  • Step 6: Stir in water, sugar, barbecue sauce, catsup, molasses and chili powder.

  • Step 7: Stir in all the beans.

  • Step 8: Put in bowl and mix together.

  • Step 9: Transfer to 3-quart casserole dish.

  • Step 10: Bake uncovered for one hour, stirring twice.
