Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 pounds pork ribs (country-style, trimmed)
  • 7 cups water
  • 1 1/2 pounds sauerkraut (fresh, rinsed and drained)
  • 1 jar (16 ounce) cabbage (sweet-sour red cabbage, undrained)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a 4 quart baking dish place eh ribs and then add the water; cover and cook on High for 20 minutes (see description); drain and set aside.

  • Step 2: In microwave safe 2 1/2 quart baking dish (I use corning ware), combine the sauerkraut and red cabbage and then place ribs over the top; sprinkle with the onion and salt and pepper; cover with waxed paper or if using a corning ware casserole with the glass cover and cook on medium for 15 minutes (see note in description). You will need to check as you may have to shift the different size ribs to different parts of the casserole. Turn ribs over and repeat the seasoning with salt and pepper. Cover with foil and let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes (standing is part of the cooking process).
