  • 1/2 cup poppy seeds
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • Icing sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2: In a small bowl, combine poppy seed and 2 tbsp milk.

  • Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and honey.

  • Step 4: Add eggs and beat well.

  • Step 5: Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda.

  • Step 6: Blend into creamed mixture alternately with 2 tbsp milk and vanilla.

  • Step 7: Stir in coconut and poppy seed milk mixture.

  • Step 8: Spread evenly in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.

  • Step 9: Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

  • Step 10: Cool in pan on wire rack.

  • Step 11: Sprinkle top with sifted icing sugar and cut into bars.
