Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Butter and flour a loaf pan (my loaf pan is a bit longer than most, so think you can use a standard size loaf pan and a mini loaf pan if your loaf pan is smaller than the standard).
Step 3: In the bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter and sugar until light and then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and then add the vanilla.
Step 4: In another bowl combine the dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) and add to the batter, beat well until all are absorbed.
Step 5: Spoon 2/3 of the batter into prepared pan. To the remaining batter add the cocoa powder and milk and beat until combined. Spread the cocoa mixture on top of the batter in the pan and with spatula cut and twist thought the dough to get a marbled effect.
Step 6: Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 7: Unmold on rack to cool and then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
