Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup yakitori sauce (Obento brand recommended for marinating)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Ginger root (4cm piece fresh ginger, finely grated)
  • 1 green onion (finely chopped, plus extra slices to serve)
  • 12 wings (700 grams) chicken (just the drumette part of the wing called nibbles, 700 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place yakitori sauce in a jug and add garlic, ginger and onion and stir to combine and then place chicken, in a single layer, in a glass or ceramic baking dish and pour the sauce mixture and turn nibbles to coast and then cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight, if time permits, turning chicken occasionally.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan forced.

  • Step 3: Remove chicken from fridge and stand at room temperature for 15 minutes and then bake chicken in marinade for 25 minutes, turning halfway through sprinkle with sesame seeds and then bake for a further 10 minutes or until chicken s golden brown and cooked through and then sprinkle with extra onion and serve and enjoy.
