The ingredients are:
  • 16 large canned asparagus spears (use the largest spears as possible)
  • 16 slices whole wheat sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2-3 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
  • Garlic clove, minced
  • 1 green onion, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Fresh grated Parmesan cheese, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Grease a large baking sheet.

  • Step 3: Flatten bread with a rolling pin.

  • Step 4: In a bowl combine the cream cheese with blue cheese, garlic and green onions.

  • Step 5: Spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread.

  • Step 6: Top with asparagus spear then roll up tightly.

  • Step 7: Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet.

  • Step 8: Brush with butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

  • Step 9: Cut the rolls in half.

  • Step 10: Bake in a preheated 400 degrees F oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
