Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 4 teaspoons grated orange rind
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 935 grams mincemeat (3 1/8 cup, Nonesuch brand if at all possible)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a Bundt pan.

  • Step 2: Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  • Step 3: Cream the butter, orange rind and vanilla in mixer until light.

  • Step 4: Beat in sugar, then the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.

  • Step 5: Blend in the mincemeat.

  • Step 6: Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

  • Step 7: Stir in the nuts.

  • Step 8: Bake for 55 - 60 minutes, or until done. (In my oven, 65 minutes was a tad too done.)

  • Step 9: Cool ten minutes, then turn out onto rack.

  • Step 10: Dust with powdered sugar or ice with frosting or glaze.
