Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sherry
  • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 red chilli (de-seeded and finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger root (finely chopped)
  • 6 shallots, chopped (the recipe says welsh onion)
  • 750 grams shrimp (green prawns, shelled and de-veined, 1 1/2 pounds)
  • Chopped Parsley or Chives to garnish.

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine the tomato sauce with the sherry and sugar.

  • Step 2: Heat the oil in a wok over a medium heat and add the chilli, garlic and ginger. Stir in the shallots and tomato mixture.

  • Step 3: Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 4: Add the prawns and simmer until just cooked.

  • Step 5: Serve with pasta and garnish with chopped parsley/chives.
