Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup Crisco shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups white flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 3 cups quick oatmeal
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix both sugars and shortening mixing well; add eggs and vanilla.

  • Step 2: Add flour, soda, and salt and mix well; add oatmeal mixing well again.

  • Step 3: Roll into rolls about 2 1/2" thick and wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap and put them into the ice box (I put them into the freezer for a very short time so they are quite cold--easier to slice).

  • Step 4: Take out, one roll at a time, slice thin and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.

  • Step 5: Bake in 350 degree oven for 5-6 minutes.
