Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp (minced, original recipe says "ground")
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 4 green onions, minced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream (to 1/4 cup sour cream, optional)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Hot sauce to taste
  • Creole seasoning (Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning or Old Bay seasoning, optional)
  • Salt and pepper (go easy here if you use Tony's or Old Bay)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine softened cream cheese and lemon juice.

  • Step 2: Stir in green onions and minced shrimp.

  • Step 3: Add mayo, increasing amount to desired consistency (a spread or a dip). Add some sour cream to thin it even more.

  • Step 4: Season with Worcestershire, hot sauce, salt and pepper. Reduce or omit the salt and pepper if you use Tony's or Old Bay seasoning.

  • Step 5: Chill 8 hours to blend flavors. Taste and season again if necessary.
