Step 1: In a 3-quart heavy saucepan whisk 2 whole eggs with 2 egg yolks, sugar and cornstarch. Gradually whisk in the light cream. Cook over medium heat whisking constantly until the mixture comes to a boil; cook 1 minute or until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
Step 2: Remove from heat then whisk in butter and vanilla.
Step 3: Cover with a piece of plastic wrap directly over the top. Chill for 4 hours
Step 4: Use as desired.
