Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 packages (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup water (warm)
  • 1 cup water (warm)
  • 1 2/3 cups milk (warm)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup seeds (Power Seeds mix)
  • 1 1/2 cup flour (8 grain mix)
  • 3 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 9 to 10 cups all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Dissolve yeast in 3/4 cup warm water.

  • Step 2: Add warm water, warm milk, sugar, salt, butter whole wheat flour, power seeds, and 8 grain mix. Mix well. Let rest 10 min

  • Step 3: Add enough remaining flour to make dough easy to work with.

  • Step 4: Turn dough out onto a lightly floured, cloth covered surface and knead until smooth and elastic.

  • Step 5: Place dough in an oiled bowl, turning dough to coat in oil.

  • Step 6: Let rise, covered with a damp cloth, until doubled. approximately 1 hr.

  • Step 7: Punch down dough and divide in half.

  • Step 8: Roll each half of the dough into a rectangle, 18 x 19 inches.

  • Step 9: Starting at the short end, roll the dough up into a log and pressing down on the ends to seal them, Fold ends under loaf and place roll of dough in bread pan, seam side down.

  • Step 10: Let dough rise until double.

  • Step 11: Heat oven to 425 F.

  • Step 12: Place loaves in oven so that the top of the pan is in the center of the oven.

  • Step 13: Bake 30 - 35 minute Loaves should be golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
