Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 squares (2 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate (1-ounce each baking squares, I prefer the sweet chocolate squares)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large egg (beaten slightly)
  • 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallow (I use the colored for special occasions)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (or pecans, chopped)
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries (half if desired)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a pot over low heat, melt the chocolate and butter

  • Step 2: In a small bowl beat the egg slightly( whisking in a little of the hot chocolate mixture to the egg eases the blending) carefully whisk into the above mixture until nicely blended

  • Step 3: Remove from heat, add the graham crumbs

  • Step 4: Allow mixture to cool before folding in the marshmallows, walnuts, and cherries.You don't want to be melting the marshmallows

  • Step 5: Shape into a roll on wax paper, roll into the size you wish, making a nice smooth round roll shaped like a sausage

  • Step 6: For variety I like to roll in flaked coconut or finely chopped nuts which gives it an extra special look. Chill in refrigerator until set, best overnight. Slice and serve

  • Step 7: NOTE: I like to roll the log in either flaked coconut or finely chopped nuts
