Step 1: Heat oven to 375 degrees and lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. Combine sugars and butter in a bowl and mix until well combined, then add milk and egg and beat until smooth.
Step 2: Add flour, baking powder, ground ginger, baking soda and mix well. Stir in dried fruit, nuts, and crystallized ginger and mix gently.
Step 3: Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto cookie sheets. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.
