Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 pound ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon each dried basil and oregano (rubbed)
  • 3 cans (24 ounces) tomato sauce (preferably Hunts Tomato Sauce or another good-quality brand, 8 ounces each can)
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili flakes, or to taste
  • 1 can (21/4 ounce) sliced black olives (drained)
  • Salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • Cooked spaghetti
  • Fresh grated Parmesan cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large skillet, cook beef with onions over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain, then add in garlic, basil, oregano and chili flakes, cook for 2 minutes.

  • Step 2: Add the tomato sauce, sugar, Worcestershire sauce; bring to a boil, reduce heat, partially cover and simmer for about 45 minutes stirring frequently.

  • Step 3: Add olives; simmer and 10-15 minutes longer(season with salt and pepper during cooking time).

  • Step 4: Spoon over spaghetti; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
