The ingredients are:
  • 5 apples, cored and chopped (for texture I peel 2; and leave the peels on the other 2), I also use a mix of granny smith and fuji (or something similar)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (more or less to taste)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • Pinch salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add the water and sugar to a medium pot and bring to a light boil, stirring well to dissolve the sugar. Reduce the heat to medium low and add the apples, salt, cinnamon and allspice. Cook the apples on medium low for 15-25 minutes until they are soft and tender. The sauce with thicken as it cooks, and thicken even more after it cools.
