Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 packages (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 2 cups water, warm
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 6 to 6 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Dissolve yeast in warm water.

  • Step 2: Add sugar, salt, oil and 3 cups four, mix well.

  • Step 3: Add enough remaining dough to make dough easy to handle.

  • Step 4: Turn out dough into lightly floured, surface and knead till smooth and elastic.

  • Step 5: Place dough in oiled bowl and turn to coat.

  • Step 6: Cover dough with a damp cloth, and let dough rise until doubled.

  • Step 7: Punch down dough and divide in half.

  • Step 8: Roll each half into a 9x18 inch rectangle, and starting at she short side, roll up into a roll.

  • Step 9: Press down ends of roll to seal, and tuck ends under roll.

  • Step 10: Place roll in greased loaf pan, seam side down and cover with damp cloth. Repeat with other roll. Let rise 1 hr, or until doubled.

  • Step 11: Heat oven to 400F and bake approx 35 minute Loaves should be golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
