  • 250 grams self-rising flour
  • 140 grams caster sugar
  • 50 grams cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt, pinch
  • 3 large eggs
  • 200 ml liqueur (Irish cream liqueur, plus extra to serve)
  • 50 ml milk
  • 100 grams milk chocolate (very roughly chopped into chunks)

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • Icing sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Single cream, to serve
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Grease a two litre baking dish and heat oven to 180C/160C fan forced and put the kettle on.

  • Step 2: Put the flour, caster sugar, cocoa, baking powder and a pinch salt in a large mixing bowl.

  • Step 3: Whisk together the eggs, butter, liqueur and milk and then pour on to the dry ingredients and mix together until smooth.

  • Step 4: Stir in the chocolate chunks and scrape everything to the baking dish.

  • Step 5: To make the sauce, mix 300ml boiling water from the kettle with the brown sugar and cocoa, then spoon it over the pudding batter until batter is covered and then you pour in the remainder.

  • Step 6: Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 30 minutes until the surface looks firm, risen and crisp.

  • Step 7: Dust with icing sugar, if you like and serve straight away - as you scoop spoonfuls into serving bowls, you should find a gorgeous chocolate sauce underneath and eat with single cream and extra liqueur, if you like.
