  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oil, divided (canola oil)
  • 1 pound beef flank steak (trimmed)
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups red onion, sliced
  • 1 package (8.8 ounce) cooked brown rice (precooked)
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce (Thai-style sweet chili sauce, divided)
  • Napa cabbage leaves (8 leaves)
  • 2 teaspoons water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Step 2: Sprinkle the steak with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Place the steak in the skillet. Cook 4 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired degree of doneness.

  • Step 3: Remove from the pan; let stand 10 minutes. Cut steak across the grain into thin slices; sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt.

  • Step 4: Add the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons oil and onion to the skillet; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt.

  • Step 5: Heat the rice according to the package directions.

  • Step 6: Combine rice and 2 tablespoons chili sauce in a bowl; toss to combine.

  • Step 7: Divide the rice evenly among the cabbage leaves. Top evenly with the steak and onions.

  • Step 8: Combine the remaining 2 tablespoons sauce and wter in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk; drizzle evenly over the wraps.
