How to Make

  • Step 1: Place half of the onions in the slow cooker and add the meat and then the rest of the onions. Pour the salsa and the water over the pork and onions. Turn slow cooker to the high setter for 4-5 hours or on LOW for 7-9 hours or until pork is tender and can be shredded with a fork.

  • Step 2: Remove pork and onions from slow cooker and discard any of the remaining liquid and fat. Let meat cool slightly and then shred the pork, using 2 forks.

  • Step 3: In a bowl mix together sauce ingredients (barbecue sauce - salt) and mix the sauce into the pork.

  • Step 4: Return pork to slow cooker and cook on high for another hour.

  • Step 5: Serve about 1/2 cup shredded pork in each roll and top with coleslaw if desired.
