Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate, divided
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons roasted saigon cinnamon (McCormick brand)
  • 1 teaspoon ancho chile powder (McCormick brand)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt 8 ounces chocolate as directed on package. Set aside. Coarsely chop remaining chocolate.

  • Step 2: Mix flour, cinnamon, ancho chile powder, baking powder and salt in small bowl.

  • Step 3: Beat butter with sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla mix well. Add melted chocolate, beat until well blended.

  • Step 4: Gradually add four mixture until well blended. Stir in chopped chocolate.

  • Step 5: Dropped dough by rounded tablespoons 1 1/2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheet.

  • Step 6: Bake in 350 degrees preheated oven for about 10 minutes or just until cookies are set and slightly cracked on top.

  • Step 7: Transfer cookies on parchment paper to wire rack, cool completely. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
