Step 1: Melt 8 ounces chocolate as directed on package. Set aside. Coarsely chop remaining chocolate.
Step 2: Mix flour, cinnamon, ancho chile powder, baking powder and salt in small bowl.
Step 3: Beat butter with sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla mix well. Add melted chocolate, beat until well blended.
Step 4: Gradually add four mixture until well blended. Stir in chopped chocolate.
Step 5: Dropped dough by rounded tablespoons 1 1/2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheet.
Step 6: Bake in 350 degrees preheated oven for about 10 minutes or just until cookies are set and slightly cracked on top.
Step 7: Transfer cookies on parchment paper to wire rack, cool completely. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
