Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped (large onion)
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder (hot)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 500 grams lean ground beef (minced)
  • 300 ml hot water
  • 1 beef (12 grams) bouillon cube
  • 1 can (400 grams) chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 can (410 grams) red kidney beans
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large sauce pan over a medium heat saute onion, peppers and garlic. Add chili paprika, and cumin. Give it a good stir and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Turn the heat up a bit, add the meat to the pan and break it up with your spoon or spatula. Cook until the meat is browned.Add water, stock cube, chopped tomatoes, oregano,sugar and tomato paste.Mix well and simmer gently for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes try it and season to taste with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3: Now add the beans and a little more water if you think it is necessary.Cook for another 10 minutes and taste again. Adjust seasoning if it is necessary. let it rest for 5 minutes. Serve on individual bowls with a dollop of sour cream and some chopped chives.
