Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 large garlic clove, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 seasoned teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (can use more)
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 (12 ounce) tubes refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Prepare a large ungreased baking sheet.

  • Step 3: In a large skillet, cook beef and sausage with onion over medium heat until no longer pink; drain.

  • Step 4: Add in garlic; cook for 2 minutes.

  • Step 5: Add in parsley, water, flour, baking powder, salt, cayenne and pepper; heat through.

  • Step 6: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  • Step 7: On a floured surface pat 10 biscuits into 4-inch circles.

  • Step 8: Top each with about 1/3 cup of the meat mixture, then sprinkle a scant 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture.

  • Step 9: Pat remaining biscuits into 5-inch circles and place over filling; seal edges with water.

  • Step 10: Press edges together with a fork dipped in flour; pierce the tops.

  • Step 11: Place on baking sheet.

  • Step 12: Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown and filling is hot.
