Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef strip steak (or skirt steak, approx 6 ounce servings)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 3/4 cup Cognac (or brandy)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the oil in a lrg skillet over med-high heat.

  • Step 2: Season steak w/salt & pepper as desired & cook to desired doneness (2-3 min per side for med-rare). Remove steak from the pan & allow it to rest at least 5 min before slicing (See NOTE below).

  • Step 3: Remove the skillet from heat & carefully add the cognac, stirring to incorporate the meat juices. Return pan to the heat & cook (stirring occ) until slightly thickened (2-3 min). Add the cream & cook until thickened (2-3 min more).

  • Step 4: *NOTE: In all honesty, the steak was a part of this recipe, but for me was merely a way to get to the cognac sauce. That said, feel free to season or marinate the steak to suit your preferences B4 pan-grilling it on the stovetop & then finish the recipe as directed.
