Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In a small bowl combine 1 1/2 cups crushed crackers with 1/4 cup melted butter. Press across the bottom and up the sides of a 9 inch pie plate. Bake 5 minutes. Let cool completely.
Step 3: Increase oven to 450 degrees. In a large skillet cook onions in 2 tablespoons butter over low heat 10-15 minutes, or until soft stirring occasionally. Spoon into crust. Set aside.
Step 4: In a medium bowl stir together eggs, milk salt, Italian seasoning, pepper and garlic powder. Stir in cheese.
Step 5: In same skillet that you cooked the onions melt 1 tablespoon butter. Add egg mixture and over very low heat stir until cheese melts. Pour evenly over onions. Sprinkle with remaining crackers.
Step 6: Bake uncovered, 5 minutes. Reduce oven to 350 degress andbake 10-15 minutes more or until set. Let cool slightle before slicing.
