Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/4 pounds extra-lean ground beef (568g)
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs (fresh whole-grain bread crumbs or 1/3 cup dry unseasoned bread crumbs)
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce (hickory-flavoured)
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic (or to taste)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Extra bbq sauce for basting burgers (optional)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl gently using you hands.

  • Step 2: For juicier burgers, try to handle the meat as little as possible.

  • Step 3: Shape meat into 4 large patties, about 1 inch thick.

  • Step 4: Preheat grill to high setting.

  • Step 5: Brush grill rack lightly with oil.

  • Step 6: Grill burgers for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until center is no longer pink.

  • Step 7: Baste with extra barbecue sauce during last 2 minutes of cooking, if desired.

  • Step 8: Resist the temptation to press down on burgers with a spatula; every drop of juice and fat that you squeeze out makes the burgers that much drier.

  • Step 9: Serve burgers on whole-grain buns with your favourite burger toppings.
