Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetabe oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons crushed chili flakes, or to taste
  • 1 small brocolli head, chopped in small florets (about 4 cups)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak (cut thinly into long strips)
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (with or without garlic)
  • Fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • Hot cooked thin spaghetti (or use vermicelli)
  • Chopped green onions, optional

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl combine the cooked pasta and sesame oil; toss well to combine.

  • Step 2: Heat the peanut oil in a large skillet or a wok over medium-high heat.

  • Step 3: Add in ginger, garlic and dried chili flakes; saute for about 1 minute; add in the broccoli florets and onion slices; saute for 3 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add in steak slices; saute for about 4-5 minutes or until cooked.

  • Step 5: Add in the cooked pasta along with the soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce and chili paste; cook stirring for 1-2 minutes or until the lo mein is heated through.

  • Step 6: Garnish with chopped green onions.
