Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups croutons (garlic flavored croutons)
  • 1/2 cup butter (no substitutes)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (can omit if desired)
  • 6 large garlic cloves, minced (can use more)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste, I use seasoned salt)
  • Black pepper, fresh ground (use as much as you like)
  • 1 1/2 pounds mushrooms (fresh small white button mushrooms, do not slice)
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • Parmesan cheese, fresh grated (use as much as desired)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (set oven rack to lowest position) then butter an 11 x 7-inch baking dish.

  • Step 2: In a saucepan melt butter with lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper.

  • Step 3: Place the small whole mushrooms into the baking dish; pour the butter mixture over and and toss thoroughly.

  • Step 4: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the mushrooms are soft and juicy.

  • Step 5: Just before serving toss the mushrooms and all the butter/garlic mixture in the baking pan with the croutons and parsley.

  • Step 6: Divide the mushrooms into separate serving dishes or one large bowl then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
