Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 140 grams dry rice (basmati, dry, 2/3 cup)
  • Water, cold
  • Saffron threads, 1 pinch
  • 1 tablespoon water (boiling water)
  • 310 ml water (1 1/4 cups)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Put basmati rice in a bowl and cover with cold water and set aside for 30 minutes.

  • Step 2: Rinse under cold water until water runs clear and drain well.

  • Step 3: Meanwhile combine pinch of saffron thread with boiling water in a small heatproof bowl and side aside.

  • Step 4: Put rice and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over a medium heat and stir in saffron liquid.

  • Step 5: Cover and reduce heat to low and cook for 12 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed and then set aside for 2 minutes and then use a fork to fluff up rice and serve.
