Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/4 pounds apples (4 apples (see description)
  • 1 1/2 pounds pears (4 Bosc pears)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • FOR CRUMBLE TOPPING
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt (just a dash!)
  • 1 cup oats (Old Fashioned oatmeal)
  • 1 cup butter (cold, diced)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Peel, core and dice fruit into 1/2" chuncks. Place in a large bowl and add the remaining ingredients for the filling, mixing well.

  • Step 2: Distribute the filling between 12 8 oz ramekins.

  • Step 3: Using an electric mixer, combine all of the crumble ingredients. Mix with a paddle attachment on low speed until the mixture is the size of peas.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle crumble over the fruit.

  • Step 5: Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is browned and the fruit is bubbly.

  • Step 6: Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream.
