Step 1: Place 2 large (12 ounce or larger) glasses in the freezer to chill for 1 hour.
Step 2: In a blender pour in the milk and then scrape the seeds from a vanilla bean (discard bean). Cover and blend for 15 seconds. Add ice cream and the malted milk powder and blend until thick and creamy; you may need to stop to push down the ice cream while you are blending the shake.
Step 3: Divide between the chilled glasses and top with crushed malted malt balls and serve.
