Step 1: Tomatoes ... Add the tomatoes, garlic, oregano, and olive oil to a non-stick saute pan; and bring to medium heat. Saute, for 5-7 minutes, just until the tomatoes begin to soften and pop; stirring often. Season with a little salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to the counter off the heat to cool.
Step 2: Puree ... Also, remove the oregano stems and peels off the garlic. Add everything to a food processor (once cooled), including any juices; and, add the butter and basil. Puree until smooth; season with additional salt and pepper if necessary.
Step 3: Butter Log ... Add the butter to a piece of plastic; then, wrap and roll into a log. Twist the ends tight; and, refrigerate until firm; or freeze.
Step 4: Serve and ENJOY! ... As mentioned, this is great 'condiment,' as a spread on a toasted baguette; perfect on cooked vegetables, seafood, chicken, steak, or pork. It is delicious with so many things; and, very easy to make.
