Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 boxes (10 ounce) frozen chopped spinach (cooked in the microwave, then hand squeeze out all moisture/water)
  • 3/4 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk)
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs (Italian-seasoned)
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry Italian seasoning (rubbed)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Ground pepper (to taste)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 large egg yolk (beaten in with the whole egg)
  • All-purpose flour (use only if the mixture is to wet)
  • Oil for frying (used canola)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine the thoroughly dried spinach with all ingredients (if mixture is too wet add in a couple tablespoons of flour).

  • Step 2: Heat the oil to 350.

  • Step 3: Flour your hands and shape the spinach into 1-1/2" ovals. Deep fry 5-6 at a time for about 3-4 minutes. Turning once.
