  • Step 1: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Very gradually add the milk. stirring well until the mixture comes to a boil. Continue stirring and let the pudding simmer rapidly for 1 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Swirl in the butter. Serve.
