  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs (separated)
  • 1 can (5 ounce) evaporated milk (it said the small one)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 backed (9-inch) pie shell

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix sugar, flour, salt and cocoa.

  • Step 2: Add milk to the dry ingredients.

  • Step 3: When moistened, add egg yolks one at a time.

  • Step 4: Add water; mix well, put in double boiler and cook until thickened, whisking constantly

  • Step 5: Pour into baked pie shell.

  • Step 6: Use egg whites for meringue.

  • Step 7: Beat until stiff and put on top of pie and baked 425 until browned 5 minutes or longer depending on your oven.
